You may need to get your locks changed for a variety of reasons, whether it is an emergency situation, such as after a burglary for example. Or if you have moved into a new property and require new locks to be installed. I offer both an emergency Locksmith service and the option to book in advance for lock replacement.

As part of the Lock Changing service offered by MTS, I can carry out a free home security check. This will involve me taking a look at your current security measures and giving you recommendations on how you can keep your home more secure, whilst also checking that your locks and other security measures comply with your home insurance regulations.

As it is becoming more and more common for people to have UPVC (plastic) doors, all of our Locksmiths are UPVC specialists. Changing the lock in your uPVC door is normally a straight forward job, which should take no more than an hour in the majority of cases. However, it is still recommended that you engage the services of a professional Locksmith to complete the work.

The majority of uPVC doors have a Euro Lock Mechanism, meaning that 9 times out of 10, I will have the lock you need and can complete the job in just one visit. But not to worry if your lock is a bit more unusual, we can order whatever part you need and come back to fit it (normally within 24-48 hours). Any UPVC door lock comes with 2 or 3 new keys (dependant on the model of lock) and a 12 month warranty for your peace of mind.

The most common type of door lock found on a wooden door, is a Mortice and/or a Yale lock. If your wooden door is of a good quality then these locks can be very secure. Similar to a Udoor lock, I have a fully stocked van so in most cases will have the lock you need with them when they come to replace it. The process of changing a lock on a wooden door should be very straight forward and a fully trained Locksmith should be able to complete the job to an extremely high standard within a reasonable time.

The cost of getting your locks replaced varies, as it depends on what type of door you have, what type of lock you want and the size of the lock. However, for a more accurate quote call me on 07563 381 939

On average it will take around 30 minutes to change a lock and make the necessary adjustments. However, the length of time will change depending on your individual circumstances, the type of door and lock you have as well as how many locks you want replacing. It’s always best to speak to the Locksmith when he arrives to talk about how long it will take.

On the face of any lock that is a ‘British Standard’ lock you will see the British Standard Kitemark image pictured to the right, this may also be accompanied by BS: 3621 2007 (mortice locks) or BS: TS007 (Euro cylinders) which are the current British Standard required for Insurance purposes.
