Garage Security – Can be a weak point!
Your garage door can be a weak point, it all depends on the particular lock but because they tend to operate on a simple latch, any potential burglar will find it quite easy to break in.
This particular customer works away a lot and in his garage, he keeps a few cycles and was looking to increase the security. He also wanted a lock that was discreet and didn’t highlight the fact that there was maybe valuables inside.
As you can see in the photo on the right the locks don’t look out of place and can be opened from the inside as well.
They don’t make them like they used to!!
I did receive a call from a customer who is responsible for the maintenance on a block of flats, their complaint was that the door closer doesn’t work properly. As you can tell by the picture the closer was quite old, even the manufacturer, Yale couldn’t tell me exactly how old it was !!
Sadly I couldn’t fix it and I had to fit an more modern door closer and it took two to remove it because it weighed so much!!!!!
Lock Lock Handles – NEW PRODUCT
A new product that I have added to my range of handles is the Lock Lock Handles they come from the same supplier as the Ultion 3* Anti snap locks, so I know they are good quality.
Not only are they an upgrade on security, they are harder for potential burglars to snap the handles they also have a patented lock block which stops the spindle turning. If the spindle doesn’t turn, the door doesn’t open.
When I look at new products, I’m only interested in the security aspect, however, these handles look stunning on doors, once I showed my customer the handle in the picture she wanted it even before she knew about the extra security and the price.
